TAPI Caller ID/Called ID Middleware

Through the decades, there have been many efforts to resolve the difficulties of getting the phone system and computers to work together easily and more cost effectively.

However, up till today and for many more years to come, I believe that it will get easier and less costly, but not in a mass market kind of price anytime soon. The reason is that there are simply too many software vendors and phone system vendors to be able to come to an agreed way to integrate the 2 different technologies in a way that it will satisfy both the customers and the vendors. So while we wait patiently with hope for such a day, we still have to solve this integration problem today and the solution is Computer Telephony Integration Middleware.

It is like outsourcing where since it is not the job of the phone vendor to help you integrate with whatever CRM or software you are using, neither do the software vendor feel it is their job to help you integrate with whatever phone system you are using. So you get a 3rd party to provide the CTI solution.

The most widely used CTI solution is CT Connect previously from Dialogic (It has been sold and resold to someone else the last I checked). However, it is costly and your vendor has to be trained on it before being able to code with it.

So when we developed it for our 1st few customers, we designed it to be as flexible as possible. It was designed to either trigger the software directly, or give your software vendor a direct way to get what they want without reading a manual.
