Recording Skype Conversations

Skype being a proprietary protocol and unique design, made it more difficult to do recording of its conversation. If you use a normal PC based recording software, you will hear only 1 side of the conversation. A simple work-around is to enable your soundcard’s Playback-Microphone setting and both side of the conversation will be heard. However, this work-around causes some feedback sound to the conversation and some people is not able to accept it. This is how most free (and some paid) Skype recording software out there works.

What we do is record both sides of the conversation separately, and then mix them together so that it sounds exactly as what was spoken without any compromise to the clarity or user comfort. An alternative to allow you to record Skype calls without buying special software is to use a Skype Phone Adapter. With a Skype phone adaptor, you make Skype calls from your normal analog phone. So a normal analog logger will allow you to record the conversation nicely.
